daughter of Meshullam Article
STEPBible TIPNR
The daughter of Meshullam is mentioned in Neh 6:18 as the wife of Jehohanan, the son of Tobiah the Ammonite. Tobiah was one of the adversaries who opposed Nehemiah's efforts to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem. The marriage between Meshullam's daughter and Tobiah's son highlights the complex relationships and alliances that existed among the Jewish nobles and their neighboring tribes. This connection likely contributed to the challenges Nehemiah faced in his mission to restore Jerusalem and its community.
