Meshezabel, a descendant of Judah, is mentioned in the book of Nehemiah as the people's representative to the Persian king (Neh 11:24). This information is provided in the context of a list of people who resettled in Jerusalem after the Babylonian exile. Pethahiah, the son of Meshezabel, was appointed to represent the people in all matters concerning the king.
