Fall and Captivity of Judah

2 Kings 25:1–7

BG1940

25:1И тъй, в деветата, година на <Седекиевото> царуване, в десетия месец, на десетия ден от месеца, вавилонският цар Навуходоносор дойде, той и цялата му войска, против Ерусалим, и като разположи стана си против него, издигнаха укрепления наоколо против него;

KJV

25:1And it came to pass in the ninth year of his reign, in the tenth month, in the tenth [day] of the month, [that] Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came, he, and all his host, against Jerusalem, and pitched against it; and they built forts against it round about.

25:2And the city was besieged unto the eleventh year of king Zedekiah.

25:3And on the ninth [day] of the [fourth] month the famine prevailed in the city, and there was no bread for the people of the land.

25:4¶ And the city was broken up, and all the men of war [fled] by night by the way of the gate between two walls, which [is] by the king’s garden: (now the Chaldees [were] against the city round about:) and [the king] went the way toward the plain.

25:5And the army of the Chaldees pursued after the king, and overtook him in the plains of Jericho: and all his army were scattered from him.

25:6So they took the king, and brought him up to the king of Babylon to Riblah; and they gave judgment upon him.

25:7And they slew the sons of Zedekiah before his eyes, and put out the eyes of Zedekiah, and bound him with fetters of brass, and carried him to Babylon.

Jeremiah 39:1–7

BG1940

39:1Когато бе превзет Ерусалим, в деветата година на Юдовия цар Седекия, в десетия месец, вавилонският цар Навуходоносор беше дошъл с цялата си войска против Ерусалим та го обсади;

KJV

39:1In the ninth year of Zedekiah king of Judah, in the tenth month, came Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon and all his army against Jerusalem, and they besieged it.

39:2[And] in the eleventh year of Zedekiah, in the fourth month, the ninth [day] of the month, the city was broken up.

39:3And all the princes of the king of Babylon came in, and sat in the middle gate, [even] Nergal-sharezer, Samgar-nebo, Sarsechim, Rab-saris, Nergal-sharezer, Rab-mag, with all the residue of the princes of the king of Babylon.

39:4¶ And it came to pass, [that] when Zedekiah the king of Judah saw them, and all the men of war, then they fled, and went forth out of the city by night, by the way of the king’s garden, by the gate betwixt the two walls: and he went out the way of the plain.

39:5But the Chaldeans’ army pursued after them, and overtook Zedekiah in the plains of Jericho: and when they had taken him, they brought him up to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon to Riblah in the land of Hamath, where he gave judgment upon him.

39:6Then the king of Babylon slew the sons of Zedekiah in Riblah before his eyes: also the king of Babylon slew all the nobles of Judah.

39:7Moreover he put out Zedekiah’s eyes, and bound him with chains, to carry him to Babylon.
