Azriel Article
STEPBible TIPNR
Azriel is mentioned in 1Ch 5:24 as one of the heads of a father's house in the half-tribe of Manasseh that settled in Gilead. The chapter describes the genealogies and territories of the tribes of Reuben, Gad, and the half-tribe of Manasseh, who lived on the east side of the Jordan River. Azriel is listed along with other leaders of Manasseh who are described as valiant warriors, famous men, and heads of their fathers' houses. This suggests that Azriel was a prominent figure within his tribe, known for his military prowess and leadership abilities. The mention of Azriel and the other leaders highlights the importance of family structure and tribal organization in the allocation of land and the defense of Israel's territories.
