Eliam is mentioned in 2Sa 23:34 as one of David's mighty men. He was the son of Ahithophel the Gilonite. The mighty men were an elite group of warriors known for their exceptional military skills and bravery. They played a crucial role in David's military campaigns and helped establish his kingdom. Eliam's father, Ahithophel, later became a counselor to David but ultimately betrayed him by siding with Absalom during his rebellion (2Sa 15:12).
This name also occurs as that of a Gilonite, the son of Ahithophel, and one of David’s thirty warriors (2 Sam. 23:34). perhaps these two were the same person.
