Hezir is mentioned in 1Ch 24:15 as a priest during the reign of King David. He was the head of the 17th division of the priestly service, which was established by David when he organized the priests into 24 divisions for their service in the temple. Each division was responsible for serving in the temple for a week at a time, twice a year.
