Melech is mentioned in the genealogies of the tribe of Benjamin in the First Book of Chronicles (1Ch 8:35; 9.41). He is listed as a descendant of King Saul, the first king of Israel. The genealogies indicate that Melech was the son of Micah and the father of Tarea.
King, the second of Micah’s four sons (1 Chr. 8:35), and thus grandson of Mephibosheth.
