Mareal is mentioned only once in the Bible, in Joshua 19:11, as part of the description of the border of the territory allotted to the tribe of Zebulun. The verse states that the border "went up to Mareal and reached to Dabbesheth, then to the brook that is east of Jokneam." The location is not provided in the Bible.

Trembling, a place on the southern boundary of Zebulun (Josh. 19:11). It has been identified with the modern M’alul, about 4 miles south-west of Nazareth.
