Taanath-shiloh is mentioned in Joshua 16:6 as a landmark on the eastern border of the territory allotted to the tribe of Ephraim. It is listed along with other border towns such as Michmethath, Janoah, and Ataroth. The exact location of Taanath-shiloh is uncertain, but it is believed to have been situated in the hill country of Ephraim, north of Bethel.
