GEN 11:12-13

Source calculation and assumptions

The year of Arpachshad_1's birth is the year his father, Shem_1, was born (1560) + the age of his father at Arpachshad_1's birth (100) = 1660. (This is also TWO years after the Flood ended (1658+2) = 1660)

The year of Arpachshad_1's death is the year his son, Shelah_1, was born (1695) + the years Arpachshad_1 lived after his son's birth (403) = 2098

Shem was 100 years old when Arpachshad was born... two years after the Flood.

Absolute years are conditional chronological estimates. A biblical passage may state an age or event, but does not by itself establish a BCE year. Different calendar systems are preserved separately.

Arpachshad Article STEPBible TIPNR

Arpachshad, also spelled Arphaxad, was a son of Shem and grandson of Noah. He was born two years after the flood, when Shem was 100 years old. At age 35, Arpachshad became the father of Shelah. He lived 403 years after Shelah's birth and had other sons and daughters. Arpachshad was an ancestor of Abraham and is listed in both the genealogies in Genesis and in Jesus' genealogy in Luke 3. His name is of uncertain meaning but may be related to the region of Arrapḫa in Assyria.

Arphaxad Dictionary Easton's Bible Dictionary (1897)

Son of Shem, born the year after the Deluge. He died at the age of 438 years (Gen. 11:10-13; 1 Chr. 1:17, 18; Luke 3:36). He dwelt in Mesopotamia, and became, according to the Jewish historian Josephus, the progenitor of the Chaldeans. The tendency is to recognize in the word the name of the country nearest the ancient domain of the Chaldeans. Some regard the word as an Egypticized form of the territorial name of Ur Kasdim, or Ur of the Chaldees.
